Lauren is a cultural producer and artist from Pittsburgh who creates platforms for experiencing emerging music and new media art. Currently a Fellow at CMU's Frank-Ratchye STUDIO for Creative Inquiry, and staff in the School of Art, she is also the co-founder/director of VIA, an annual festival and year-round event series in Pittsburgh. Lauren often works between artists and musicians to commission new works that are custom for particular environments. She curates and provides creative direction for audio-visual performances, AR/VR experiences, live video, and interactive artworks. While she usually operates in between the gallery and the club, her practice extends into developing workshops & lectures spanning film/video and digitally-based art. She's part of the female-identified artist collective dadpranks, whose digital photo and video projects make use of evolving retail aesthetics & mass produced objects to explore the relationship between consumer and technology on and offline.
